TURN is a response to the limited size of singles’ apartments. Conceiving their available floor space as a fluid area open to multifunctional use, TURN is a versatile solution that caters to a range of different needs. As a sofa, it offers a place for activities like working on a tablet PC, casual dining or winding down after a day of work. In no time, TURN can be transformed into a table for any social occasion. The board can be easily removed and the frame folded, ensuring effortless transportation.
Slowthing is a concept for the sale of sustainable and fair clothing. In shops, the hanger’s special shape complicates picking up a piece of clothing off the rail. The short moment of irritation is meant to provoke reflections in customers: What is the history behind this garment? Who created it and in what kind of conditions? Do I need it? The tags on the product offer more information and forward to a website. Slowthing is a contribution to more conscious shopping and appreciation of the value of clothing. Clothing presented on a Slowthing hanger can be consumed with a good conscience.

Gong is a project for long-term productivity, reminding users to perform an important task – taking regular breaks. It consists of a clock that makes a full rotation in the space of an eight-hour work day and can be equipped with bells. The bells can be attached flexibly for large and small breaks. When the time for a break comes, the sound reminds us of the need to take a break. Just like the school bell did in our childhood, Gong trains us to maintain our concentration by taking a few moments off regularly.
Writing to-do-lists and sticking to schedules facilitates everyday life and improves working culture. TODO comprises an eight-hour-clock for your work day and a to-do-list. Tasks can be attached to the clock and, after completion, pronged with a feeling of satisfaction. This way, the remaining tasks stay in view and progress is made visible.

Children love to create hiding places and worlds of their own. The flexible padded metal fabric integrated in HIDE makes it possible for children to built these caves and hiding-places at home, offering protection and security. The plaid almost seems to hover. In addition, it can become a self-shaped playground, flying carpet and may be used to cover wooden floors and tiles while playing on them.

Color Dots is an innovative packaging for wall colour on dispersion base. The product responds to the need of Do-It-Yourself Users to paint smaller surfaces easily and without a big effort. Furthermore, the packaging of the colour serves as a tool that can be used for the processing of the paint . The colour is bottled in a Spoutbag which enables airtight closure of the packaging after opening and reduces the amount of material needed for packaging . Besides, this form of bottling allows pouring free of seeping. The outer packaging is made of cardboard that is coated on both sides and can be used as a colour tub. It can be disposed in household garbage after use and thus does not have to be cleansed elaborately and water-intensively. Color Dots therefore allows less complicated and more ecological painting. Function and contents of the product are openly demonstrated and thereby independently communicated.
Based on the simple but multifunctional “workshop lamp”, sixty° emerged for a range of needs and environments. In the way the mechatronic engineer can bring the easy lamp with hook and handle in different positions, this flexibility is given to the system by 60 ° cuts and a sliding contact at the ends of the single elements. Through the sliding contacts, the luminous elements supply each other with electricity – they are light and rack at the same time. Because of the small number of elements needed, the system can be extended easily. sixty° therefore can be adapted to many conventional solutions but also, its sculptural character gives it aesthetical value. with Svenja Jakobs
The Anstiftung zur Stadtentdeckung in 2013 was a sensual offer for citizens to perceive their old town of Dorsten in new ways. At that moment in time, many images of collective memory were losing their force while the contemporary and familiar sights were not symbolically charged. In this context, the project stimulated citizens’ discovery mode and provided them with a variety of sensual and artistic stimulation. The accompanying magazine "Magazin zum Stadtentdeckungssommer" captures the magic of citizens (re-)discovering their own town.
In 2015, we created a temporary park on a one-hectare piece of land in Dorsten: The LippePolderPark. With this project, we explored whether it is possible to simulate an elusive space that mirrors people’s longings. Creating a temporary park also meant creating a temporary game, provoking questions like: How do I want to live? Who do I want to be with? What do I want to live on and how to increase quality of life in an urban environment? We found that the more accessible, the more aesthetic and the more sustainable our offers were, the more our temporary park was seen as a desirable place for all times.
Urban societies are currently becoming more ethnically and culturally diverse. Public parks are places where people meet and community can take place in a relaxed atmosphere. The Open House, like a felt-tip pen into the landscape The infrastructure is set in the public space and can be used and occupied in different ways again and again. As a landmark it attracts people to come together here. To eat, to make music, to relax, to repair and thus to celebrate the variety and the magnificence of urban life.
